New: Stand-alone solution to deplete ribosomal RNA
We are happy to announce the release of Lexogen’s NEW RiboCop rRNA Depletion Kits for Bacteria, which efficiently remove ribosomal RNA from monocultures and mixed bacterial samples (e.g. soil, biofilms, clinical samples (biopsies, stool, urine), surface swabs).
RiboCop is offered as a stand-alone kit with the option to choose from three optimized Probe Mixes for depletion of rRNA from mixed bacterial samples (META) and from Gram negative or Gram positive bacteria (G- or G+, respectively) grown in monoculture.
To help you to find the best kit for your bacterial species of interest, please take a look at the RiboCop for Bacteria Kit Selection Tool. Here, you can enter your species of interest and the tool will give a recommendation which kit is best suited. Try it out!
Benefits of the new RiboCop for Bacteria:
- Efficient depletion of 23S, 16S, and 5S rRNA from monocultures and mixed bacterial samples
- Sophisticated probe design to eliminate off-target effects
- Fast and simple protocol: 1.5 hours with only 30 minutes hands-on time
- Workflow without enzymatic reactions or mechanical shearing – preserves full-length RNA
- Opportunity to use 1 ng – 1 µg total RNA input
- Can be used for intact as well as degraded material (including FFPE)
- Resulting rRNA-free samples are suitable for almost any downstream RNA analysis methods including RNA-Seq library preparation approaches
- Excellent protocol reproducibility
- Automation-friendly as magnetic beads are utilized for depletion and purification probes
- Kit sizes 24 and 96 preps (4×24 packaging)
